Co-founded by Wendell Mackey, CFA & Rodney Herenton of Channing Capital Management along with Josephine Jimenez, CFA, Channing Global Advisors was formed in 2017 to carry forward, on a worldwide basis, its parent company’s unwavering quest to discover high quality, growing businesses in international and emerging markets.
Josephine is a founder and Managing Member of Channing Global Advisors. She is the firm’s Chief Investment Officer and portfolio manager of its Thematic Growth Strategies: Emerging Markets All Cap and EM Small Cap. She managed commingled trusts and mutual funds at her previous positions and has a track record of managing EM assets for institutional investors that spans over two decades. Prior to co-founding Channing Global, she worked at The Rock Creek Group and preceding that, founded Victoria 1522 Investments and served as its CEO, Chief Investment Officer, and portfolio manager. Before establishing that firm, she was Managing Director and senior portfolio manager at Montgomery Asset Management for 12 years, where she launched and managed emerging markets strategies. After the sale of that firm to Wells Capital Management, she led the Emerging Markets and International divisions at Wells. Josephine started her emerging markets career in 1988 as an analyst and portfolio manager at Emerging Markets Management. She holds a Master of Science in Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from New York University. She served on the MIT Corporation for five years and helped oversee the endowment fund as a member of MIT’s Investment Committee. She is a CFA charterholder.
Emerging Markets Small Cap
Employs a thematic growth approach, focusing on up to 100 high-quality, growing companies in developing economies, generally with market capitalizations of less than $5 billion (USD).
